Queen of hill stations, Mussoorie is one of the most visited places in Uttarakhand. With the beautiful backdrop of the Shivalik ranges of the Himalayas and Doon Valley, Mussoorie offers its visitors some captivating places to explore. Have a look at some of these amazing places for the ultimate experience-

1. Mall Road

One of the major and most happening places in Mussoorie is Mall Road. Located in the heart of Mussoorie, Mall Road has a bunch of cafes and restaurants, shops, and local food vendors where you can treat your taste buds. Have a hearty walk in the evening time which is quite amazing. The shopaholics can go for all the items from woolens to wooden pretty handicrafts for house décor.

2. Kempty Fall

Another famous attraction is Kempty Fall, surrounded by massive mountain cliffs. This is indeed the most famous picnic spot and remains crowded every year. Enjoy a good bath under the gushing fall and make sure to enjoy the boating session in the nearby man-made pool. Just have a good bath in the fall and do not miss enjoying boating in the nearby man-made pond. Head towards Kempty fall in summers between March and June when the weather is quite soothing.

Add this awesome place to your itinerary. Company Garden is undoubtedly a well-maintained garden and is perfect for family picnics. Just stroll, visit the amusement park here, and enjoy the thrilling  Columbus giant ship ride for a fantastic experience. Indulge in boating sessions which are done in an artificial pond. Explore the nursery here at this garden which holds several beautiful flowers and plants one can purchase.  

4. Bhatta Falls

Make sure to visit Bhatta Fall in Mussoorie, which is quite famous among visitors. Enjoy the swimming sessions here. One can find small eateries where one can enjoy lip-smacking food. This place also has a children’s park that has swings where the children can engage themselves.

5. Cloud’s End

Cloud’s End is another amazing place to visit in Mussoorie. Get mesmerized by the jaw-dropping views of the Aglar River valley. Witness the thick oak and deodar forest. Pay a visit to the heritage building at this place that was set up by a Britisher in 1838 that is one of the oldest buildings in Mussoorie which is now converted into a heritage hotel- Clouds End Forest Resort. 6. Lal Tibba

Another famous place to explore is Lal Tibba. This amazing place is located on the top of Depot Hill in Landour. 7. Jharipani Falls

Located just 6 km downhill from Mussoorie in the Jharipani village, Jharipani is yet another famous place to visit. After reaching a certain point by vehicle one needs to trek a good 1.5 km to reach this beautiful waterfall. Enjoy a picnic here with your friends and family and witness the peace and serenity of this place. Spot some varied species of wildflowers, creepers, and shrubs that are found in abundance near this waterfall.

8. Gun Hill

The second-highest point in Mussoorie, Gun Hill is nestled at an altitude of 2024 meters. Capture the 360-degree view of the spectacular Himalayan ranges- Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara, and Gangotri group, for a fantastic experience. Gun Hill is situated 400 ft above the Mall Road and is accessible by cable cars. Enjoy the cable car ride and witness the fabulous views of the distant hills and green landscapes.

9. Camel’s Back Road

Beautifully located in the heart of Mussoorie, Camel’s Back Road is a good 3 km long road lined with natural rocks that are in the shape of a camel’s hump. Enjoy a long walk along this road and explore the beauty of this place. There are around 180-year-old British Cemetery that catches visitors’ eyes while walking at Camel Back Road. 10. Sir George Everest House

Sir George Everest House is perched on top of a cliff overlooking the exotic Mussoorie valley. This house was constructed in the year 1832 and is also known as Park House. Sir Geroge Everest owned this house and spent 11 years living here and used this house as his observatory and laboratory. Capture the astounding views of the picturesque Doon Valley on the side, the mighty Aglar River Valley, and astonishing views of the Himalayan peaks in the North.

11. Mussoorie Lake

An artificial lake, Mussoorie Lake is located at a distance of 6kms on the Mussoorie-Dehradun highway. Mussoorie Lake is beautifully surrounded by natural charm and offers scenic views of the charming Doon Valley. One can find shops offering refreshments to the visitors. Enjoy the boating sessions here at this lake and also enjoy a picnic by the lakeside for an amazing experience.

12. Library Bazar

Visit the Library Bazaar which will take you back to the vintage times. The market oozes with gusto and radiates a colonial feel. Enjoy the local delicacies from the umpteen eateries, hotels, and restaurants for a gastronomical experience. Library Bazaar is a paradise for shopaholics. This market has a wide variety of mementos, trinkets, junk jewelry, precious stones, carved wooden boxes, hand-knitted cardigans, pashmina shawls, brass statues, wall-hangings, Tibetan prayer wheels, and many more items.

13. Tibetan Buddhist Temple

Shedup Choepelling temple or the Tibetan Buddhist temple is located close to the IAS Academy. This temple is known for its tranquil atmosphere. One can find a large idol of Buddha under the open sky that is truly worth capturing. The vibrantly colored pillars murals and prayer wheels adorn the temple structure. This shrine of Buddha is truly an amazing place to meditate. A large number of tourists visit this temple every day. This temple offers a beautiful sunset view.

14. Snow Adventure Zone

Snow Adventure Zone is an adventure park situated at Buranskhanda on Mussoorie-Dhanaulti road and was established in the year 2003 with the motive to offer thrilling yet interesting activities to visitors. Enjoy skiing,  valley crossing, parallel rope, zip line, rock climbing, rappelling, trekking, and adventure night camping for a thrilling experience.

15. Benog Wildlife Sanctuary

Benog Wildlife Sanctuary is a part of the Rajaji National Park and is renowned for its almost-extinct mountain quails, deer, leopards, and red-billed blue magpie. This sanctuary has medicinal plants too. One can even encounter rare species of birds like White Capped Water Redstart, Red-Billed Blue Magpie, and some other exotic bird species.
